ROTARY CLUB OF SASKATOON
November 28, 2022
CLUB MEETING
Attending on Zoom: Paul Gauthier, Vic Dubois, Graham Pearson, Prem, and Gary Kerr.
President-elect Wendy was the Chair of our meeting.
Members sang ‘O’ Canada. Graham Pearson gave the blessing. Avis was the Greeter and introduced the guests.
These included our Guest Speaker, Stevie Horn, and Kent Smith-Windsor, who wishes to join our club. Wayne Palmer was cashier. Al Morton introduced the presenter.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
President Steve announced that the Board approved a donation of $2,000 to the Food Bank, which is a joint effort with the other Clubs and together $15,000 has been raised.
We are serving at the Friendship Inn on Christmas day. So far, Gary Rusu and Steve and June Wilson will be there. We are hoping for 6 more to come. The time will be 11:15 to 1:15 pm.
Health of the Club - Gary Rusu spoke to Marc Cheriyan’s wife. He is now in Sherbrooke Community Centre. He will see visitors.
Grocery Cards -Co-Op and Sobeys are available. Check with Donna.
There will be no Zoom on December 5th (next meeting) or at our Christmas Party on December 19. More about the Party at the end of this report.
HAPPY AND SAD DOLLARS:
$20 from Mark Gryba for the Huskies playing in the Vanier Cup. Although they lost a close game, they can be proud of their playing.
$35 from Steve for contributions to the Foundation, for the Food Bank and for the Christmas Party.
$400 from Graham for family travels and the work of the Salvation Army.
$50 from Elaine - project support and Malawi Fundraiser which is on December 4.
Presenter:
Al Morton introduced Stevie Horn of the Public Library. She grew up on a cattle farm and at an early age had an interest in history. She has her Master’s in Library and Informational Studies with an interest in archives. Stevie has been the Special Collections Librarian since 2019. She is also part of the Municipal Heritage Society Committee.

Books by local authors
Maps and architectural drawings

Audio visuals, cassettes, and DVDs.
The City of Saskatoon and University each have their own archives.

On December 19 we are having our Christmas Party. This includes any members who can attend and their spouses. Please contact President Steve if you wish to attend.
