HAPPY AND SAD DOLLARS
  • $50 Wendy is grateful for the hard and thorough work of Allan Lebiszczak, Treasurer, of The Charitable Trust. We had our board meeting for the Trust on Saturday.
  • $50 from Steve Wilson for a new grandson, Lucien, (Luc) born on January 16, the actual due date. Parents are his daughter, Larissa, and husband, Brad.
  • $50 From Elaine Zakreski, citing travel delays for family, but ultimately safe.
  • $50 from Jim Weber. He is also grateful for Allan Lebiszczak with the Charitable Trust, and, in addition, for his help with Becas.

Presentation

We watched a video which Will introduced about Membership and how to explain Rotary to non-Rotarians.

A few points that struck me as the scribe:
  • 20% of active members have never sponsored a new member.
  • Keep the website presentable, use a logo, an inviting photo, and clearly show the meeting location and time, describe speakers, news about projects, and post regularly. Use Facebook.
  • Prepare an action plan for you to use when contacting a prospect member.
  • Make a ‘pick-up line’.
  • Meeting for coffee is a good initial step.
  • Tell your own Rotary Story.
  • Bring prospects to a meeting when you have a dynamic speaker.
  • Show a Club’s project in person.
  • If we cannot accommodate a prospect with the Club’s time and location, then refer them to another rotary club.
