At our last meeting of 2024, the Rotary Club of Saskatoon inducted 3 new members: Claire Mugabe and Fred Solomon - who were welcomed in person to our club - and Kelechi Agubata (who was not able to attend our meeting in person, but who joined us via our Zoom connection)

Claire Mugabe
Claire is a Project Financial Administrator with the Mozambique-Canada Sexual and Reproductive Health Project, implemented by the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. After living in several countries across East and Southern Africa (with Uganda and Rwanda being home), she moved to Canada to pursue higher education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan then worked abroad, and recently relocated to Saskatoon this summer.

Claire's areas of interest include good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, as well as peace, justice, and strong institutions. She is passionate about entrepreneurship, philanthropy, continuous learning and development. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, meeting new people, reading, writing, and volunteers with St Paul’s Co-Cathedral. Her journey to joining Rotary started as a young Interact President in Uganda, where I discovered the power of Service Above Self.

Kelechi Agubata
My name is Kelechi Agubata, and I am delighted to be part of the Rotary Club of Saskatoon. I bring with me a strong background in financial management, fraud examination, and compliance, with over five years of experience in the financial industry.

I hold a Master of Science in Financial Management from Sheffield Hallam University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Fraud Examination and Forensic Accounting, and a Bachelor of Science in Educational Management and Planning, specializing in Accounting, from the University of Port Harcourt. I am also a proud member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), where I focus on promoting integrity and transparency.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I have served as President of Catholic students in Nigeria at different times, which strengthened my leadership and community engagement skills. I am passionate about giving back and have volunteered with various organizations over the years, believing that service is the heart of impactful leadership.

I look forward to contributing to the Rotary Club’s mission of serving our communities and making meaningful connections with fellow members. Thank you for welcoming me into this amazing family.

Fred Solomon
Fred Solomon is a seasoned IT professional, entrepreneur, and wealth manager with a deep passion for innovation, financial growth, and community service. A proud and dedicated family man, Fred serves as Vice President of the Nigerian Canadian Association of Saskatoon (NCAS), where he actively champions leadership, cultural heritage, and community development.

Since relocating to Canada in 2016, Fred has seamlessly blended professional success with impactful leadership, leaving a lasting impression in every sphere he touches.

Joining the Rotary Club aligns seamlessly with Fred’s dreams and is a natural extension of his passion for humanity and charitable work. Rotary provides an exceptional platform to contribute meaningfully and create tangible, lasting change in people’s lives—both locally and globally.

We are thrilled to welcome Claire, Kelechi, and Fred into the Rotary Club of Saskatoon. Their unique talents and passions are a valuable addition to our fellowship and community projects. Welcome aboard and we look forward to getting to know you more at our noon meetings!
